The Mac King Interview

"We shot this interview between Mac's 1pm and 3pm shows at Harrah's in Las Vegas, so our time was brief but we discussed the reasoning and approach behind his Opener. The importance of having a Laboratory to hone your show. Why Mac's Closer is what it is and how it came to be. The value of great Transitions and how they affect a show. And finally advice on how to transition from a close-up performer to the stage." -Bill Abbott

  • Saw Mac King two weeks ago, Show is so dialed in he’s able to focus on audience like 99.9% it seems…Also his callbacks, multiple and hilarious thru the show – a huge part of the comedy in his show – uses the idea masterfully.

  • Thank you Bill. That was a fantastic interview with one of my favourite performers. You covered the most important aspects of a stand up show and the advice MAC gave was pure gold. Loved it.
